The Middle East peace process and the Iran issue are "two sides to the same coin," White House National Security Advisor James Jones said on Wednesday.

Jones explained further that the problem with the Palestinians has "broader implications that reach all the way to Afghanistan, Morocco and Nigeria," in an interview with an Italian newspaper, Corriere della Serra.

Jones emphasized that Israel needs to understand the importance the Palestinian issue has in US foreign policy for the entire region.
