Kerry says hopes to visit Philippines before he leaves office

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State John Kerry said on Thursday he remained confident about the future of the US-Philippines relationship and that he hoped to visit Manila again before leaving office in January.

Kerry spoke at the State Department at a swearing-in ceremony for the new US ambassador to the Philippines, Sung Kim.
