Netanyahu on Russia S-300 deal with Iran: 'I trust Medvedev'

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said on Monday that he trusts Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and that the Russian government is guided by considerations for the stability of the region, Israel Radio reported.
Netanyahu made the remark at the conclusion of a meeting with Medvedev in Moscow, in response to a question about whether Russia would be supplying the S-300 missile defense system to Iran.
Netanyahu reportedly told his hosts that if sanctions are to be leveled on Iran, they need to be crippling and imposed immediately.
Following the meeting between the heads of state, senior Israeli officials noted a shift in Russia’s stance on the Iranian issue, the radio station reported, but the officials added that Moscow has its own independent positions.
