Organs from Arab killed by stray bullet saves 3

The family of Nizhar Jahashan, a 59-year-old man who was born in Nazareth but moved to Holland and raised his family there, has donated his organs for transplant after a stray bullet to his head killed him when at a restaurant in his hometown.
He was taken to Haifa’s Rambam Medical Center, and doctors struggled to save him, but he died nevertheless.
His organs saved the lives of three people – a 59-year-old man who received a liver at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center; a 62-year-old man who received a kidney at Rambam; and a 70-year-old woman who got the other kidney at the Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus in Petah Tikva. His corneas were also removed and will be transplanted in the coming days to restore a patient’s sight.
