The beauty that the Jewish National Fund has created throughout the length and breadth of Israel is something that truly stirs the soul President Shimon Peres said on Wednesday night at the annual Council for a Beautiful Israel Magshim Israel Yafa (Achieving a Beautiful Israel) award ceremony at which the Jewish National Fund was this year the sole recipient.

The Jewish National Fund which was established at the fifth Zionist Congress in Basel, and is this year celebrating its 110th anniversary, represents all the criteria which are incorporated in the CBI's vision, and therefore there was absolutely no hesitation in deciding to nominate the JNF as this year's winner said CBI chairman and former Minister for Agriculture Avraham Katz-Oz.

On stage at the President's official residence where the awards ceremony has been held for the past 35 years, since the founding of CBI by Aura Herzog, was a giant replica of the traditional Blue Box, plus a replica of a newer version made out of olive wood.

Peres, Katz Oz and KKL-JNF chairman Efi Stenzler all mentioned the role of the Blue Box in making the whole of the Jewish world partner to the JNF's many projects.
