Police Insp.-Gen. Cohen to visit European police chiefs

Police Insp.-Gen. David Cohen is scheduled to fly to France and Italy on Sunday morning to meet with European police chiefs.
The police chiefs of both countries had visited Israel over the course of the past year, and the Israel Police said in a statement on Saturday that the three police forces enjoy "very close and fruitful cooperation."
Joint working groups have been established between the three forces aimed at tackling international organized crime, counterterrorism, security, and witness protection.
Cohen will remain abroad for a week. His deputy, Cmdr. Ilan Franco, will serve as acting inspector general for the duration of his visit.
