Border Police and Israel police thwarted a possible stabbing attack in Jerusalem's Old City on Wednesday according to police reports.

A young girl carrying a bag roused the suspicion of several officers on duty in the area. Police called for the girl to stop and present identification but instead the girl began to run.

Police caught the girl and upon searching her bag found a large knife.

The 17-year-old girl, a resident of east Jerusalem was taken in by security forces for further questioning.
