Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein announced Monday that he will allow police to question Supreme Court Justice Yoram Danziger in connection with the continuing investigation into Bat Yam mayor Shlomo Lahiani.

Lahiani and several other Bat Yam city officials are currently being investigated on suspicions of corruption, including bribery, in what has been dubbed the "Lahiani Affair".

Danziger is to be questioned as part of the ongoing corruption investigation into Lahiani regarding the period he worked as a private attorney for the mayor and the Bat Yam municipality,

In what was the first time in Israeli history that a current Supreme Court Justice has been questioned in connection with a criminal investigation, Danziger gave statements in April to police regarding his former work with Lahiani.
