Water at Jordan baptism site safe for use

According to water quality tests, the Kaser al-Yehud baptism site along the lower Jordan River is safe, authorities said on Tuesday.
A test was ordered last week and the results, which were ready this week, showed that the feces bacteria was 87 bacteria per 100 milliliter – well within Health Ministry levels of 1,000 per 100 milliliter.
The Civil Administration spokesman stressed that a previous test conducted in April revealed similar results.
The baptism site is currently in the final stages of a renovation to make it more accessible to tourists.
