National Infrastructure Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer will raise the financial penalty levied on gas station owners for the dilution of gas to a maximum of NIS 2 million from the current level of NIS 200,000.
In closer cooperation between the police and the national infrastructure ministry, Ben-Eliezer is planning to clamp down on and deter gas station owners from diluting gas. One of the proposals included putting up billboards at the entrance of gas stations caught selling diluted gasoline.
Furthermore, Ben-Eliezer will ask the country's mayors to help the infrastructure ministry in the fight against gas station piracy by reporting to the ministry about the activities of gas stations in the area.
