American Jewish Committee appoints campus affairs specialist

The American Jewish Committee is looking to confront campus anti-Semitism with the hiring of a new Assistant Director of Campus Affairs.
Jacob Levkowicz, the first holder of that office, will "address the rise in activities targeting Israel and its campus supporters across the country, and monitor and combat incidents of anti-Semitism," the AJC said in a statement.
“The American college campus has become a front-line battleground for those who seek to denigrate Israel and to undermine the Middle East’s only true democracy,” said Daniel Elbaum, AJC Assistant Executive Director and Director of Regional Offices, who will supervise the effort.
Efforts to boycott Israel are gaining steam on North American campuses and potential members student governments on two different campuses have been questioned regarding whether their Jewish identities would have a negative impact on their decision making.
