Beit Shemesh: 200 women dance to protest gender segregation

At least 200 women participated in a flash-mob in Beit Shemesh Friday, dancing in protest of the gender segregation in the public space.
Dance protest organizer Miri Shalem said that the event was organized in protest of the violent extremist actions of "the group of crazies," and to show that there is another side to Beit Shemesh, Israel Radio reported.
Beit Shemesh became a flashpoint city for the issue of exclusion women, after an ultra-Orthodox male spat at an 8-year-old girl for "immodest" dress, and a subsequent protest in the city for women's rights.
