The cabinet on Sunday approved the appointment of Mark Regev to serve as Israel's next ambassador to the United Kingdom.
Regev has been the English-language spokesman at the Prime Minister’s Office since 2007. He will be replacing Daniel Taub as ambassador to London.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said of Regev's appointment: "The highest mission of any ambassador is the ability to influence public opinion. This is what makes good ambassadors."
