Court: Non-Jews in Israel must choose a set day of rest from workplace

In a major precedent-setting case, the National Labor Court on Wednesday that non-jews must choose a set day as their off-day from the workplace and cannot alter that day on a week-to-week basis.
The court added that the "day of rest" can be chosen from Friday, Saturday or Sunday, but remain constant.
The case arose from a criminal indictment filed against the fashion company Renuar for making one of its non-Jewish workers work seven days straight.
Renuar had claimed that the governing law did not define what a "week" was and that the worker was getting to take an off-day each week, though that day could change week-to-week.
