Egyptian police kill Sudanese migrant at border

RAFAH, Egypt — An Egyptian medical official says police have killed a Sudanese migrant and arrested two others trying to cross into Israel.
Dr. Sami Anwar, head of el-Arish Hospital, says police fired warning shots Wednesday but the migrants refused to surrender south of the Rafah crossing at the Israeli border. He says the dead migrant was shot in the head and right thigh and was dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Anwar said the migrants paid traffickers $3,000 each to cross the border.
