The ultra-conservative Salafist Nour Party in Egypt will head the legislative committee on Education and Scientific Research, Egyptian daily
Al Ahram reported Tuesday.
Parliament speaker Mohamed Saad El-Katatni announced the results of parliamentary committee elections, most of which were won by members of his Freedom and Justice Party, the party of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Members of the liberal Wafd party boycotted the committee elections.
