Gilad Schalit sends thank you letter to Sarkozy

Gilad Schalit on Wednesday sent a letter to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, thanking him for his "unwavering support and effort" that helped bring about the release of the soldier from five years in Hamas captivity in October.
Schalit, who holds dual Israeli-French citizenship, delivered the letter to the French Embassy in Tel Aviv, accompanied by his parents Noam and Aviva.
The soldier delivered the letter intended for Sarkozy to French Ambassador to Israel Christophe Bigot, who had visited him at his Mitzpe Hila home upon his return to Israel in October.
Bigot expressed pleasure at the improvement of Schalit's state in the three months since his return home.
"I found a youth trying to rebuild a normal life after having been a hero, and maybe even go to university," Army Radio quoted Bigot as saying.
