Drivers around the country saw intense traffic ahead of the upcoming escalation in restrictions which will go into effect at midnight on Thursday, Netivei Israel reported.
It is estimated that the traffic was caused by many Israelis who were racing home from preparations for the lockdown, with many rushing to visit stores and institutions before they close.
