Herzog at Auschwitz calls on Jews to be self-reliant

Labor leader Isaac Herzog called Monday on the Jewish people to be self-reliant and develop a strong society "that is just, brave" and upholds "peace and social justice".
"We came from the land of life to the sea of death, to evil, to the lowest place in the world," said Herzog during a speech marking International Holocaust Remembrance Day at Auschwitz--Birkenau.
He said the memory of the Holocaust and Auschwitz should not be forgotten and should serve to teach against anti-Semitism.
