Hungarian judge acquits Efraim Zuroff of slander charges

A Hungarian judge on Tuesday acquitted Simon Wiesenthal Center chief Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff of slandering alleged war criminal Dr. Sandor Kepiro.
Zuroff welcomed the judge's decision and stood behind his claim that Kepiro participated in the massacre of Jews during World War II.
Kepiro, who was on the Simon Wiesenthal Center's most-wanted war criminals list, returned to Hungary in 1996 after living for decades in Argentina.
In February, Hungarian prosecutors charged Kepiro with war crimes in the 1942 slaughter of 1,200 civilians in Serbia.
