Iranian leader gives parliament list of ministers

Iran's state television reports President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has given parliament a list of the people he is choosing as his new ministers. The Thursday report quotes a parliament vice-speaker, Mohammad Reza Bahonar, as saying the list includes 18 names and was given to parliament Wednesday. Ahmadinejad had until Wednesday to formally submit his picks to parliament. On Sunday, he announced the names of six of his ministerial picks but many of the others were not publicly known. According to the report, current foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki will remain in his post. The former defense minister, Mostafa Mohammad Najjar, is slated to become the new interior minister. However, the ministers must first be approved by parliament.
