Jerusalem Municipality launches 'green' portal

The Jerusalem Municipality launched a green portal last week on its Web site (www.jerusalem.muni.il) making environmental FAQ and information available for the first time.
In addition to whom to contact in the event of pollution or contamination, the portal also contains a map of recycling points, a map of cellular antennas and the green map of Jerusalem.
Environmental education and links to major environmental organizations are also featured.
"The launch of the municipality@@@s environmental portal is an important step in making the information available to the public. The public has a right to know about all the myriad environmental dangers that exist around their homes, and, on the other hand, how they can help improve the environment," Deputy Mayor for Planning and Environment Naomi Tsur said in a statement.
