Katz downgrades himself to unrealistic spot on National Union list

National Union chairman Ya'acov Katz put himself out of the running for a realistic spot on his party's list for the 19th Knesset.
At the National Union center conference Tuesday night Katz asked to be put in the seventh spot on his party's list.
MK Uri Ariel is now in the first spot and Katz asked that the five spots between him and Ariel be filled by candidates of Sephardic descent.
The most generous of recent polls shows a joint National Union-Habayit Hayehudi list would get 13 seats which could put Katz in the last spot; however, most polls give the parties a single digit count.
Nevertheless, Katz said he is confident that he would still get into the next Knesset, and called for Habayit Hayehudi and National Union to unite.
