Kurdish rebels abduct three people in SE Turkey

ISTANBUL - Kurdish rebels were suspected of abducting two soldiers and a health officer at gunpoint after their vehicles were found abandoned on a highway in southeast Turkey, the governor of Diyarbakir province said on Sunday.
The kidnapping took place near Lice town on Saturday evening.
"Vehicles of a sergeant major, a specialized sergeant and a health officer were found in the region," Governor Mustafa Toprak said. A search, backed by air support, has been launched, according to Firat news agency.
