Limor Livnat to stand in protest at Games opening ceremony

Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat announced Friday that she would stand in protest of the Olympic Committee's refusal to hold a minute of silence for the Munich attack victims, during the opening ceremony of the Games on Friday evening.
Despite pleas by Israel, Germany, the US and other countries, the Olympic Committee decided not to include a moment of silence for the 11 Israelis whom Palestinian terrorists killed during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich.
Families of the slain sportsmen gathered in London on Wednesday to denounce the International Olympic Committee for its decision not to honor their loved ones at the opening ceremony on the 40th anniversary of their deaths.
