Obama urges deficit super committee to strike deal

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE - US President Barack Obama spoke with congressional Super Committee members on Friday to encourage them to strike a deal to cut the US deficit, the White House said.
White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters traveling with Obama that the president urged the committee find a balanced approach, but stressed he would not allow any measures to water down enforcement mechanisms.
