Palestinians considering launching own currency

The Palestinian Minister of Finance, Jihad al Wazir has has said in an interview with "The Washington Post" that he is considering introducing his own currency which will be called the "Palestinian Pound".
The article reports that the Palestinians have just started constructing a central bank as part of efforts to create the infrastructure for a state.
