Police arrest 9 arson suspects in Venezuela

CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuelan police on Sunday arrested nine people suspected of torching government office belonging to the agency that handles land takeovers.
Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami said authorities are searching for three other suspects who are allegedly responsible for the arson that caused the fire at the headquarters of the National Land Institute in the western state of Zulia on Jan. 8.
The agency is responsible for carrying out seizures as part of a program under which President Hugo Chavez's government is taking over swaths of agricultural land.
