Police sappers were called to a town in the Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council after residents identified a suspicious balloon with an item attached to it. After examining the item, police officers concluded that it was in fact an explosive device, and neutralized it. The police issued a statement following the incident, reminding the public to stay alert and report any suspicious items they encounter.
