Price of gas expected to drop by 30 agurot in October

The price of gasoline is expected to decrease by 30 agurot at the beginning of October, officials in the energy sector estimated on Wednesday, bringing the cost below NIS 8 per liter.

The follows a sharp rise in September, when the price of gas hit a record high of NIS 8.25 per liter.

The cost if expected to decrease due to a sharp fall in the dollar against the shekel, alongside a decrease in the value of fuel in the Mediterranean.

The estimates, however, are based on preliminary calculations and the final price will only be determined at the end of September.
