Prof. Shlomo Mor-Yosef to head National Insurance Institute

Former head of the Hadassah Medical Organization (HMO) Professor Shlomo Mor-Yosef was named Monday as the new Director General of the National Insurance Institute.
Mor-Yosef will replace Esther Dominissini, who was appointed five years ago by former Minister of Welfare and Social Affairs Isaac Herzog. Her term ends in two weeks.
Mor-Yosef was selected by a specially-appointed committee headed by Welfare Ministry Director General Nachum Itzkovitch and his candidacy was warmly welcomed Monday by the current Minister of Welfare and Social Affairs Moshe Kahalon.
A father of four, Mor-Yosef was born in Jerusalem in 1951 and for the past decade served as chief of HMO, one of the country’s leading teaching hospitals with two branches in the capital. In his capacity, Mor-Yosef oversaw the hospital’s operations, which includes some 6000 employees and a budget of NIS1.8 million. He was also responsible for the hospital’s pension plans.
