Report: Bahraini companies fire anti-gov't protesters

Bahraini companies have laid off more than 200 employees because they went on strike, Al Jazeera reported Tuesday. Officials from Batelco, Gulf Air, and the Bahrain Airport Services were among the companies who fired workers who had left their jobs to go on strike.
Al Jazeera said that the fired employees were mostly Shi'ite. The strike, which lasted from March 13 to March 22 was called by Bahrain's unions to support the mostly Shi'ite protesters against the Sunni-led government.
