Salaries down in April; annual average up

The average monthly salary dropped in April, despite a rise in the annual average. The gross monthly salary stood at NIS 8698 at the end of April, some NIS 300 less than in March, Israel Radio reported Thursday. The data were compiled by the Central Bureau for Statistics.
The highest salary per employee in the utility sector stood at NIS 25,821 per month, while the lowest wage in the hospitality sector was NIS 4260.
The average government salary in April was NIS 8738, while in the  financial sector the salary was NIS 17,870. For household work it stood at NIS 3881.
There was a rise in employment in April, an increase of 1.7 percent, with the transport, storage, and communications sectors seeing the biggest jump.
