Seven from Jebl Mukaber arrested for riot, threats

Police on Wednesday morning arrested seven suspects from southeastern Jerusalem’s volatile Jebl Mukaber neighborhood for taking part in a riot there a week ago, and for threatening two Jewish men who entered the community and had to be rescued by police after seeking shelter. According to police, the unidentified visitors came to the neighborhood to sell illegal merchandise, but retreated to a local clinic after threats were made against their lives. Police arrived at the scene to escort both men out safely but held them for questioning over the unidentified illegal goods.
