Soldier who went missing comes home alive and well

The day after launching a nationwide search after he went missing from his base, an IDF soldier turned up healthy and unharmed at his family home on Wednesday evening.

Liraz Benvenisti, 20, had last been seen leaving his base outside Hadera on Tuesday afternoon. After he failed to come home or speak to his parents, police began searching for Benvenisti, and by Wednesday afternoon they had enlisted the help of the media, as well as dozens of police and volunteers chasing up leads trying to find the young soldier.

By Wednesday afternoon Benvenisti contacted his parents by phone, and police were able to rule out a kidnapping.
