TA court sentences developer Dudi Appel to 3.5 years prison

The real estate developer Dudi Appel was sentenced to three and a half years of prison on Tuesday by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court. The court had convicted Appel of three counts of bribery for the purpose of advancing the interests of his building companies in April.
Appel announced in court his intention to appeal the sentence and requested that the court delay the implementation of his sentence.In addition to Appel, the former mayor of Lod, Benny Regev was sentenced to a one-and-a-half year prison sentence for his conviction on accepting bribes. Appel's assistant, Benny Tabin, also received a two-year sentence. Appel's company, Migdal Zohar, was fined half a million shekels as well.
