Timetable for video exchange deal

Timetable for video exch

Approximate timetable for Friday's exchange: 9:30am: German mediator Ernst Urlau will hand the video tape to Hagai Hadas, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's point man on the issue of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit. Hadas will check that the video meets Israel's three criteria - it needs to be at least one minute long, Schalit must be seen speaking, and it must contain evidence of being filmed recently. At the same time, the 20 female Palestinian prisoners will leave Hasharon Prison, and be transferred into International Red Cross care. Once Hadas has approved the tape, the prisoners will be released to the Gaza Strip via the Erez crossing and the West Bank via the Beitunya crossing. 11:30am-1pm: Hadas will travel to the Prime Minister's Office in Jerusalem, where the prime minister and senior officials will view the tape. At the same time, OC Manpower Division Maj.-Gen. Avi Zamir will take a copy of the tape to the Schalit residence in Mitzpe Hila, where he will view the video with the family. Only after both the prime minister and the soldier's family have watched the tape will a decision be made on whether to release the video to the public.
