Trafficking in Person's Report places Israel in Tier 2

Israel has been designated as a 'Tier 2' country in the annual Trafficking in Person's Report released by the US State Department.

The report states that "The Government of Israel does not fully comply with the minimum standards for the elimination of trafficking; however, it is making significant efforts to do so. The Israeli government made sustained progress in preventing trafficking in persons over the reporting period."

Measures the government has taken to help preventing trafficking include well well-coordinated inter-agency work, several investigations and prosecutions, and an amendment to the Foreign Workers Law in November 2010, which authorizes inspectors to enter and inspect a private household where migrant workers are employed.

The Israeli government also posts an annual summary of their anti-trafficking efforts on the Internet and hold a Knesset meeting to discuss each years' report.
