UN secretary-general to visit Israel, PA and Gaza Strip

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit Israel, the Palestinian Authority and the Gaza Strip next week on the heels of a Quartet meeting, the UN announced late Tuesday.
"The secretary-general is expected to visit Israel, the West Bank and Gaza following his attendance at the Quartet meeting scheduled on March 19 in Moscow," UN spokesman Martin Nesirky said.
On Monday, Ban said the upcoming Quartet meeting would focus, among other issues, on the facilitation of proximity talks in the Middle East.
He is also scheduled to attend the Arab League summit which will take place in Libya on March 27.
