International flights to use Terminal 1

Ben-Gurion Airport's Terminal 1 will be opened for international, low-cost and charter flights as soon as this summer due to increased traffic at Terminal 3, according to the Israel Airports Authority (IAA). Terminal 1 will be renovated between this October and June 2009 at a cost of NIS 35 million, it said. Terminal 1's passengers will have their security check, luggage check-in and passport control in Terminal 1 and then be transferred to Terminal 3 for takeoff, the IAA said.
