Israel Employment Services confirms rising unemployment

Israel Employment Services (IES) services data released Sunday for the month of April confirmed rising unemployment, predicted recently by the Central Bureau of Statistics. According to the new figures, there was a 0.5-percent increase in those looking for work - another 6,900 Israelis. However, the IES stressed that the rate of unemployment growth had actually gone down, saying that at the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009, monthly increases of more than 4% were recorded.
