Beyond the US-Israel partnership, China has proven to be an especially bad actor when it comes to communications and privacy.

Hendel arrived at Bar-Ilan as a guest of the university's Center for Smart Cities, which views advanced technologies and 5G specifically as an important national project.
Israel opened the tender to build its 5G network on August 4, the day before US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the expansion of the Clean Network initiative.
Called "Pelephone Plus," the network operated by the Bezeq-owned company will utilize the network of hundreds of sites it built in recent months.
There have been reports of China trying to hack foreign research for arriving at a coronavirus cure.
The report points out that “the likelihood that Israeli 5G infrastructure will include Chinese technology is almost nil.”
The Israel Builders Association petitioned the High Court in May, accusing Chinese construction and engineering companies of behaving like a monopoly.
“We will do what is good for Israel, and it is good for Israel to be in full cooperation with our greatest ally in the world, the United States,” Hendel added.
China boasts the largest and the most complete industrial system, as well as the biggest industrial output in the world.
