The phone conversation between the king of Jordan and the Syrian president was the latest step in a recent normalization of ties between leaders who had long been opponents in Syria's civil war.

PM Naftali Bennett and President Isaac Herzog have also met with King Abdullah, in what is seen as a series of overtures to repair Israel's relationship with its neighbor.

The Jordanian Royal commission is in discussions regarding a three-phase plan to empower political parties, leading to a fully-fledged democracy.

It is time for this outrage to end and for America to demand that King Abdullah hand over Tamimi to stand trial for her crimes. The victims of Sbarro deserve no less. 

"The Palestinians do not want to be in Jordan," Abdullah said. "They want their lands, they want their football team. They want their flag to fly above their houses."

At a secret meeting, Bennett and Abdullah reportedly agreed that the two countries must heal rifts, using the water deal as a first step.
