Gov't to force Dimona reactor employees back to work

Research employees at the Dimona nuclear reactor stopped working for a whole day early in February, and have been holding sanctions every day since then in an effort to make the Treasury give them new work contracts, Army Radio reported.

On Wednesday, the cabinet is expected to approve orders forcing the employees to work.

According to the proposal, Israel’s Commission on Atomic Energy can force 15 percent of employees whose work is vital to come to work and do their duties even a during full or partial strike by other employees.

Officials in the commission were quoted by Army Radio as saying they hope that the employees will act responsibly and that there will be no need to implement the back-to-work orders.
