Gush Etzion Mayor Davidi Pearl attacked European countries for having an uneven policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and touted settlement construction in the West Bank as a "fait accompli."

"Where were the European foreign ministers when Israeli residents were suffering greatly from massive rocket attacks from Gaza?" asked Pearl. "Settlements in Judea and Samaria are a fait accompli. The settlement enterprise will continue to develop and blossom in accordance with government decision, both past and present, and despite the stance of European foreign ministers. "
