Six firefighters and rescue stations in Jerusalem assisted water supply vehicles on fighting a forest fire developing around the Jerusalem area early Friday morning.

The fire progressed through the treetops being carried by strong winds from the southeast to the northwest. The fire fighters are fighting the flames and are exerting great effort to stop the fire before it approaches the houses of Jerusalem and the Zippori Center.

In addition the "Elad" fire squadron was flown in and a first aircraft quartet took off early Friday morning.
