Israel has been supplying India with various weapons systems, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles over the last few years, making India one of Israel’s largest buyers of military hardware

Knesset speaker Mickey Levy said he looked forward to working with his Indian counterpart, Speaker of Lok Sabha Mr. Om Birla, with whom he will establish the friendship group.

Lapid thanked Jaishankar for his visit, marking the start of celebrations of 30 years of ties between the countries.

'We regard Israel as our most trusted and most innovative partners,' India's Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar said.

The Battle of Haifa saw the Jodhpur and Mysore Lancers from India liberate the city from the Ottomans. Today, India and Israel celebrate the anniversary of the battle as Haifa Liberation Day.

The second cargo plane full of medical equipment took off from Israel early on Friday and is expected to be followed by more shipments over the next few days.

One crucial lesson learned throughout the last year is that the pandemic knows no borders. Rising numbers in India pose a severe threat to populations worldwide.

India’s strong links in the Gulf and in Israel could play an important role in determining the region’s future direction.

“We’ve not changed the inside of the shop since 1902. The ceilings came from Italy and the showcases, I believe, came from Belgium,” owner Isaac Nahoum said.

"The goal of these agreements is to strengthen Israel relationship with these two countries, to advance it to new places."
