India is working on at least six free trade agreements, including one with the United Arab Emirates that can create a gateway for Indian trade to the Middle East and Africa.

There is no doubt that India’s position in the region and its importance for Israel will increase as cooperation continues to be stable and deep.

This is Gen. Manoj Mukund Naravene’s first visit to Israel since he began his term as India’s top military officer in 2019.

Israel has been supplying India with various weapons systems, missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles over the last few years, making India one of Israel’s largest buyers of military hardware

Knesset speaker Mickey Levy said he looked forward to working with his Indian counterpart, Speaker of Lok Sabha Mr. Om Birla, with whom he will establish the friendship group.

Lapid thanked Jaishankar for his visit, marking the start of celebrations of 30 years of ties between the countries.

'We regard Israel as our most trusted and most innovative partners,' India's Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar said.

The Battle of Haifa saw the Jodhpur and Mysore Lancers from India liberate the city from the Ottomans. Today, India and Israel celebrate the anniversary of the battle as Haifa Liberation Day.

The second cargo plane full of medical equipment took off from Israel early on Friday and is expected to be followed by more shipments over the next few days.

One crucial lesson learned throughout the last year is that the pandemic knows no borders. Rising numbers in India pose a severe threat to populations worldwide.
