MK Molla: Rabbi Eliyahu investigation 'too little too late'

MK Shlomo Molla (Kadima) on Tuesday responded to Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein's decision to open a criminal investigation against Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu for incitement to racism, declaring that he welcomes the action but that it is "too little too late."

Molla, head of the Knesset Lobby for the Struggle Against Racism, decried the legal system for delaying the opening of the investigation. He said that it is a pity that the investigation will not include the letter from rabbis forbidding people selling or renting property to non-Jews.

He added that racism has become mainstream in Israeli society.
