Sudan expresses disdain for Int'l Criminal Court

An adviser to Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir expressed disdain for the International Criminal Court after his superior, accused of participating in genocide in Darfur, returned from his state visit to Chad unimpeded. Chad recognizes the legitimacy of the ICC but declined to arrest Bashir.
"This summit shows African solidarity and it also exposes the ICC and its agenda and it also exposes the agenda of some European countries and the United States in particular," the president's adviser was quoted as saying by AFP.
Once enemies, Chad and Sudan have recently experienced an improvement in relations after having previously fought each other through government supported proxy groups in the Darfur conflict.
